Near All the Bayfield Peninsula Has To Offer

The Water Otter Inn and it's proprietor Colene offer welcoming lodging in Washburn Wisconsin, between Bayfield and Ashland, to travellers wanting to experience the Bayfield Peninsula. The 2 rooms in the inn are nicely decorated, clean and quiet. Colene is a most gracious hostess. The Inn doesn't offer breakfast but that allows you to check out Coco's in downtown Washburn for morning and also lunch goodies.

We Highly Recommend the Water Otter Inn

My husband and I stayed in the Bark Bay Room. It was a lovely room with a sitting area that was a perfect spot to unwind with friends. The house was spotless and the bed was very comfortable. There are two rooms upstairs and another on the first floor. The upstairs rooms share the same washroom but as our friends were in the other room it was fine. The ladies staying downstairs were very friendly and Colene had left information on restaurants etc. that was very helpful. We enjoyed our stay and highly recommend the Water Otter Inn.

Great Stay at The Water Otter Inn

Stayed 2 nights in the Bark Bay Suite. Beautiful room with a sitting area, plenty of storage and comfortable beds. Easy to find and just blocks from the marina. I highly recommend you visit this lovely establishment. Colene is an amazing host and is always there to suggest entertainment options.

Room Tip: Bark Bay has two separate beds and a couch so large, a teenager could sleep on it.

Wonderful Inn!

We stopped here on our vacation and the place was exceptionally clean and the hostess, Colene was the most gracious host I've ever met on our travels. She went above and beyond our needs and was very pleasant and told us about some great places to visit in the area. Would recommend this very highly.

Comfy Bed! Nice Owner! Cute Town!

We used this as a base camp for activities in Bayfield and it was very adequate for our needs. The room we stayed in was cozy and the bed was very comfy. The owner was very eager to share ideas for where to hike, where to eat, and to make sure the room was to our liking heat-wise. You'll want to bring your own breakfast (cold) or be prepared to eat out; breakfast is not provided, but nummy coffee and tea are. Be sure to drive around Washburn, the historic county seat of this region; the town is adorable. We are very glad we came here!

A Little Piece of Heaven!

The Water Otter Inn will always be our first choice when visiting the Bayfield/Washburn WI area. The accommodations are superb. Colene, the innkeeper and owner, offers freshly brewed coffee and tea in the morning along with a wealth of knowledge about the area. There is a tranquil quality about the place that brings back feelings of growing up in my hometown. I would love to be in Washburn right now enjoying Sassy Nanny goat milk cheese (locally produced) with fresh lavash from Coco Artisan Breads and Fine Pastries. The Inn and the pastry shop are two things that shouldn't be missed in life.

My husband and I stayed while visiting Big Top Chautauqua and touring the Apostle Islands area.
